History of Raid Australia

A total of some 260 cars and approximately 500 people have participated in the 5 Australian Raids held to date.

The first Raid Australia was held in 1988 and covered the Gunbarrel Highway track across central Australia from Perth to Sydney.

The second Raid Australia 1992 travelled through the top end of Australia.

The third Raid Australia in 1996 extended through the Northern Territory and Western Australia.

The fourth Raid Australia in 2000 commenced in Alice Springs, the Red Centre, to Cape York, the extreme north east, which provided a finale to those who commenced at Cape Leeuwin for the cape to cape challenge.

The fifth Raid Australia in 2004, "Raid South Eastern Odyssey", gave a cross-section of what Australia has to offer. Starting in Penola, SA and finishing in the capital city Canberra.
