From Perth Ralph Hibble sends us this photo of Shayne Harris and his dog Utah. Both are wearing Perth to Cape Leeuwin survey T-Shirts. Shaynes car "Candyman" had a few problems with its gearbox.

Shayne and Utah took part in the Western Australia survey for the pre-Raid in 2000. "Candyman" is car no. 21. Shayne will be travelling with his wife Allyson.

Jost Hashoff

Jost from Berlin, after having had a look at the Wenlock River pictures from the Raid survey stated:
"Trouble is the spice of life" and "the picture of the Wenlock River is excellent. That's what we need. I hope only a few of us like to flood their cars and be eaten by crocodiles. I will".

France

On the 30th September  99 we received this great photo from Claudine and Christian Komaniecki.
They advise that they expect to bring a French team of at least six cars to Australia to participate in Raid 2000.

Elise Buisson

Talented French girl Elise recently (June 99) toured the National Parks of the American North-West (a kind of personal Raid America West) prior to her new job with the National Parks Service (Golden Gate National Recreation Area) enhancing and restoring natural resources of the Presidio San Francisco.

Newcomer

We welcome Keith Shead to Raid 2000.
Keith is a newcomer to the Citroën scene having recently purchased a 2CV.
He has recently arranged for a "raid strengthened" chassis to be shipped from England, as part of a major overhaul.
Keith is car no. 30.

Carolin and Jürgen Loos

First pictures we have received of cute little Janina Loos.

Janinas parents are car no. 31.

Phil Otley

We thank Phil for his e-mail describing his hectic 2CV life over the last two years.  He reports that they did Raid North Hellas, saw the eclipse of the sun on the Black Sea coast of Turkey, just missed the earthquake, and drove 250 kms in Germany with no clutch. A fourth clutch change, a chassis change and complete rebuilt in Germany, four local meets and I finally got home early in October...........

Cherie
