R. A. I. D. S. - A Warning...

Recent reports have surfaced in Citroën Car Club press releases warning of an Australian outbreak of
R. A. I. D. S.  (Remote Area Insatiable Driving Syndrome)

This insidious disease was thought to have been successfully contained, only occasionally surfacing in the forests of Europe and Sub Saharan Africa. An outbreak in Australia is expected due to the influx of people during the Olympic Year.

Symptoms include changes to purchasing patterns; air line tickets and accommodation being given a higher
priority than the demands of hearth and home. If both partners are afflicted, it can lead to be complete abandonment of family, and speech in strange tongues.

The disease has previously affected only empty nested baby boomers, but is now spreading to all other age groups. This is due to the contagious nature of the ailment, plus the level of personal interaction that takes place within the hot-house environment of the Citroën Car Clubs.

No complete cure is yet known, but the viability of an old remedy is proving successful. Victims are advised to take 600cc of 2CV over a period of six weeks, and remove themselves completely from the stresses of city living.
Remission will hold for about a year, after which the symptoms will re-appear.
